When ASENAV
started his operations in the place where his main plant (Plant I) is located
the installations of the old and small shipyard which ASENAV purchased where
really very simple and precarious and the surface of the lot also very
limited. During the years the company
was able to purchase 3 contiguous lots forming a total lot of approximately 63.000 m2 and which correspond to
present Plant I.
In 2003 the
company purchased an other lot, with a surface of 10.000 m2, located
downstream the same river the main plant is located, with direct access to the
sea, without intermedia bridges limiting the height of the vessels. In this plant (Plant II) an own moor wharf
was constructed and finishing and outfitting works are performed in this plant,
mainly for the larger boats.
Finally, in
2008, ASENAV was able to purchase a lot, of approximately 55.000 m2,
just facing the main plant. In this new
plant (Plant III) a large construction shed was constructed, to be able to
construct the larger vessels contracted before, increasing in an important
volume the total construction capacity of the shipyard. Additionally, due to his location it is
possible to move sections of hulls or complete hulls, on lorries (cars) running
on rails, to Plant I, which main construction shed is in line with shipyards
slipway.
In Plant I
the indicated slipway is located, which capacity, recently extended, allows to
launch hulls of up to 3.500 tons.
In the Plant
I also the lift dock (or shyncro-lift) is located, with a lifting capacity of
up to approximately 1400 tons.
Covered
production areas have a surface of approximately 25.000 m2. Permanent workers are between 500 and 600, to
which approximately 200 workers of subcontractors must be added and some
personnel contracted for limited periods for specific projects.
With all this
infrastructure, installations and personell, ASENAV is prepared to make
possible an efficient and safe construction of all kind of vessels, limited in
size to about 110 m as a total length and up to 23 m beam.
Pictures
included in this page give an idea of described installations and facilities.
ASENAV is also prepared to build vessels with higher total lenght, constructing them in two sections, which would be towed to an other place to be assembled.
