With the
delivery of the first South American built Anchor-Handling Tug/Supply vessel
(AHTS), of KMAR 404 design, named “Skandi Stord”, ASENAV entered yet another
specialised market dominated by quality and technical sophistication.
Furthermore,
the first contract, in 2003, for two large MOSS 929 design AHTS vessels for the danish company AP
Moller (Maersk) demonstrated once again Asenav’s flexibility, quality and its
ability for any new construction challenge. These 89.10 m LOA vessels have a 212 ton bollard pull.
All this of
course has been achieved at a very competitive value by utilising the
production advantages of
Chile
in combination with the practical operation of the Danish company Maersk and with the Norwegian engineering by Moss Maritime”.
This
important and demanding customer MAERSK, having obviously considered the
excellent performance and high quality of the first two supply vessels
delivered, ordered to ASENAV in 2006 the construction of two additional Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), of 5.000 tons dead-weight, model UT745CDL.
With these
construction ASENAV has become a shipyard speciallized in construction of
supply vessels, for the oil offshore industry, of different sizes and types and with vessels of internationally recognized high quality.
